While everyone’s pain-tolerance is different, lip blushing is not a painful procedure. Your lips are numbed using a topical anesthetic before the procedure, and re-applied throughout the procedure. The anesthetic will make for a painless experience as the permanent lip color is being inserted. Most clients do not experience any pain or discomfort during a lip tattoo procedure.

Lip Procedures are performed by depositing pigment into the lips, building layers of color using a permanent cosmetics machine, delivery natural results. The initial process takes approximately anywhere from 2 to 3 hours. Your technician will start by applying a topical anesthetic to numb your lips for about 20 minutes, after numbing your technician will draw outlining and or modifying any area desired.. Using new, sterile needles, your artist will then insert the desired ink colors, making slow, methodical moments across the lips once completed you may have the sensation that you just did an aggressive lip scrub, but it will quickly fade.
Typically, lip blushing lasts between 2 to 3 years and will gradually lighten and soften over time, until your lips slowly return to their natural color.
3 hours after the procedure, you can use an ice pack, wrapped in a clean paper towel, to help with swelling. Cleanse your lips morning and night with a mild antibacterial soap (Dial Foam works great). Then apply Bacitracin ointment using clean q-tips (not your fingers) 2-3 times per day for 3-4 days. Keep your hands clean and avoid touching the affected area(s).
After 3-4 days of Bacitracin application, being to apply Aquaphor (using a clean q-tip NOT your fingers) as needed until lips are healed or at least on week post-procedure (whichever is longer). Avoid activities that’ll induce sweating for 24 hours. Keep your hands clean and avoid touching the affected area(s).
•Do not scrub or pick treated areas
•Do not use peroxide or Neosporin on treated areas
•Do not expose area to direct sun or to tanning beds
Avoid exposing the area to excessive moisture or humidity such as: facials, swimming, hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, and steamy showers. Failing to adhere to these guidelines can result in faded pigment and pre-mature lightening. During and after the healing process, for longest lasting results, avoid: tanning beds, exposure to direct sun, chlorinated pools/spas, soap and chemicals (including cleansers and makeup), avoid Retin-A, moisturizers, glycolic acids, exfoliants, and anti-aging products. Following these guidelines, along with periodic touch ups, will ensure longer lasting results following your lip tattooing procedure.

•Though rare, infection is possible. If you see signs of infection, such as: persistent increased redness or swelling, fever, drainage, or oozing, contact your physician immediately.
